About Elaine
I have been creating willow sculptures for nearly 6 years, it is a hobby that seems to have developed into a real passion.
We have enjoyed demonstrating at various shows over the past few years including;
Taunton Flower Show, Forde Abbey, Buckfast Abbey and Wells Garden Festival. We will also be attending some of these this year along with a new Country Show at Taunton in September.
I have worked on 2 projects with Julie Haylock , Sandhurst Garden Design, winning Gold at Taunton and a Silver at the BBC Gardeners World at Birmingham this summer.
I carry out talks and demonstrations to gardening clubs, WI etc and have now started a series of workshops. If you are interested in taking part in a workshop please, email, phone or message me for details.
Most of my work is created through commission, feel free to contact me to chat through any ideas you may have, I am always keen to take on a new challenge!
The larger sculptures are built around a metal frame which gives a good solid stand to secure into the ground. Each piece is unique and takes several days/weeks to make, depending on size. All work is treated with wood preservative which should ensure the sculptures remain in good order for many years. I would recommend spraying sculptures once a year with either Linseed Oil or a basic wood preservative which can be purchased in most DIY shops.
The sculptures make a lovely addition to any garden and look good all year round. They can also be covered in lights to make a spectacular Christmas display.
I have been thrilled by the positive comments I have received about the sculptures and love to see the reaction of people when they see them.
Thanks to my husband who is always supportive, welding the frames and transporting my creations around.
